Dr George Dracopoulos

Dr George Dracopoulos is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises exclusively in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of foot and ankle conditions. Based in South Australia, he is dedicated to providing patient-centred care, utilising advanced surgical techniques to restore mobility and alleviate pain. Dr Dracopoulos has a particular clinical interest in performing foot and ankle procedures under light sedation and local anaesthesia, offering a reassuring and comfortable experience for his patients.

With a focus on modern, minimally invasive techniques, Dr Dracopoulos is highly skilled in keyhole bunion surgery, a procedure designed to reduce incision size, minimise scarring, and accelerate recovery times. His comprehensive scope of practice also encompasses the treatment of complex foot and ankle disorders, including ankle sprains, neuromas, plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, and tendon issues. Dr Dracopoulos completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 1984. He went on to obtain his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery in February 1993, followed by a Fellowship of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 1996. To further refine his expertise, he undertook two prestigious post-graduate fellowships in foot and ankle surgery, one at Harvard Medical School in Boston and another in Brisbane. Dr Dracopoulos is an active member of both the Australian and American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Societies, and he previously served as a Government-Appointed Medical Representative on the Podiatry Board of South Australia.
