About Dr David Kitchen
Dr David Kitchen is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement, revision joint replacement, cartilage restoration, and lower limb sports injuries including ACL and meniscal injuries.
He completed advanced subspecialty fellowship training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, the UK’s leading orthopaedic centre, where he developed expertise in complex primary and revision hip and knee surgery, as well as joint preservation procedures. He has also undertaken visiting fellowships across Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, and France, gaining insight into innovative techniques and international best practice.
Dr Kitchen holds a PhD from Adelaide University and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting a strong commitment to research-driven, evidence-based care. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Adelaide University and Education Lead for musculoskeletal student teaching at Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals, where he holds public hospital appointments managing complex orthopaedic trauma and arthroplasty patients.
