Dr Didier Tshamala

Dr Didier Tshamala is a dedicated and compassionate Paediatrician and Neonatologist who provides comprehensive, family-centred care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. Inspired by his own childhood experiences with asthma, he developed a lifelong passion for medicine and helping young patients. He manages a broad spectrum of paediatric conditions, ranging from general and acute illnesses to complex developmental, growth, and nutritional concerns.

Dr Tshamala completed his Bachelor of Medicine in the Democratic Republic of Congo, qualifying in 1999. He undertook his early medical training in the Kingdom of Lesotho before commencing his paediatric training in South Africa. Upon relocating to Australia, he completed his advanced training and obtained a dual Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in both General Paediatrics and Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr Tshamala has worked extensively across various tertiary and regional hospitals, gaining deep expertise in neonatal intensive care, acute paediatric medicine, and the long-term management of chronic childhood conditions. He is highly regarded for his ability to build strong, trusting relationships with patients and their families, ensuring a collaborative and reassuring environment. Alongside his clinical practice, he has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in neonatal and perinatal medicine and remains actively involved in teaching and mentoring Medical Students and Junior Doctors.
