Dr Derrick Tee

Dr Derrick Tee is a highly accomplished Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of digestive health conditions. Known for his approachable and reassuring manner, Dr Tee prioritises open communication, ensuring his patients feel comfortable and fully informed throughout their healthcare journey. He specialises in luminal gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, delivering tailored management plans to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Tee completed his undergraduate medical degree at Trinity College Dublin in 2000, before obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom in 2004. He undertook specialist training in gastroenterology and general medicine at leading tertiary hospitals in London, achieving his specialty certification in Gastroenterology in 2010. Dr Tee was subsequently awarded a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (Research) degree from Imperial College London for his research into intestinal immunology, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease and short bowel syndrome. To further his expertise, he completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at a major teaching hospital in Perth, focusing on advanced therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, and pancreaticobiliary conditions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Tee is deeply committed to clinical research and medical education. He serves as a Clinical Lead for an inflammatory bowel disease service and holds an academic appointment as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer. Dr Tee actively leads clinical trials and research projects, particularly in the fields of inflammatory bowel disease and endoscopic ultrasound, and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in international medical journals.
