Dr Claire Francis

Dr Claire Francis is a highly qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for women from adolescence through to menopause and beyond. With a reassuring and holistic approach to healthcare, she is dedicated to supporting women and their families through every stage of their reproductive journeys. Dr Francis prioritises achieving the best possible health outcomes in a calm, supportive, and friendly environment, ensuring that each patient receives individualised care tailored to their unique needs.

In her obstetric practice, Dr Francis manages both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, offering expert guidance from pre-pregnancy planning and IVF pregnancies through to birth and postnatal care. She has a particular interest in supporting women who experience medical conditions during pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes, thyroid disease, and hypertension. As a skilled Gynaecologist, she specialises in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery to treat conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic pain. Her clinical expertise also extends to managing menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), vulval disorders, and family planning, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertions and contraceptive counselling.

Dr Francis graduated with honours from Monash University, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She undertook her initial post-graduate training in Melbourne, followed by clinical work in Papua New Guinea, and completed her specialist obstetric and gynaecological training in the United Kingdom. To further refine her skills, she completed post-fellowship training in Adelaide, specialising in laparoscopic urogynaecological surgery. Dr Francis is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). She maintains active professional memberships with the Australasian Menopause Society, the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society, and the Australian Vulval Society.
