Dr Yong has a strong interest in minimal access surgery and offers a range of advanced laparoscopic and robotic pelvic floor reconstruction procedures to his patients.

Dr. Yong completed his primary medical degree at The University of Auckland and pursued further specialisation in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He joined the Royal Women’s Hospital Pelvic Floor Unit in 2016, where he completed three years of subspecialty training in Urogynaecology. His primary practice is located at Epworth Freemasons in East Melbourne, and also consults at Epworth Geelong.

Recognising the importance of addressing pelvic floor issues and the stigma surrounding them, Dr. Yong is passionate about women’s health and aims to raise awareness about these concerns. He provides personalised and holistic treatment plans to enhance the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Yong often collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including women's health and continence physiotherapists, colorectal surgeons, pain specialists and occasionally urologists.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Yong is actively involved in clinical education and research, focusing on conservative management and native tissue surgical correction for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. He is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay. Dr. Yong is affiliated with professional associations such as the Urogynaecology Society of Australasia (UGSA), International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA), and International Continence Society (ICS).
