Dr Anuj Bohra

Dr. Anuj Bohra is a highly qualified and dedicated Gastroenterologist with a strong academic and clinical background. Dr. Bohra pursued his medical education at the University of New England in regional New South Wales. He returned to Victoria in 2014 to undergo postgraduate training at Eastern Health and later completed his advanced training in gastroenterology through Eastern and Monash Health, earning his FRACP in Gastroenterology in 2020.

In 2021, Dr. Bohra completed a Fellowship in Intestinal Ultrasound at the Alfred Hospital and now leads an Intestinal Ultrasound Service at Eastern Health, specialising in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He also holds a VMO Gastroenterologist position at Eastern Health while balancing his work in private practice at Gutwise Gastroenterology.

Dr. Bohra is pursuing a PhD through Monash University, focusing on optimising non-invasive methods of disease assessment in IBD. His research has led to innovations such as the introduction of Crohn’s capsule endoscopy services at Eastern Health for IBD patients. He has presented his findings at national conferences and published in international journals.

In addition to his research, Dr. Bohra is a conjoint credentialled endoscopist providing gastroscopy and colonoscopy services. He consults on a wide range of gastroenterological issues with special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, functional bowel disorders, and liver diseases.
