Dr Andrew Carroll

Dr Andrew Carroll is a highly regarded general Ophthalmologist who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred eye care. Dr Carroll completed his medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1993. He subsequently undertook specialist training in Ophthalmology within Queensland, followed by a prestigious fellowship at a specialist eye and ear hospital in Victoria, which he completed in 2005. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO), reflecting his adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards in eye surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr Carroll has developed extensive expertise in managing a wide range of eye conditions, with particular clinical interests in cataract surgery, medical retinal disease, and glaucoma care. He is highly skilled in performing intravitreal injection therapy for macular degeneration and surgical procedures for pterygium removal. Beyond his private practice, Dr Carroll has demonstrated a strong commitment to public health and community service. He has contributed to training future Eye Specialists and medical students at a public hospital, volunteered to teach advanced cataract surgery techniques to local Surgeons in Nepal, and provided essential ophthalmic services to rural and Indigenous communities through mobile clinic initiatives.
