Dr Andrew Barclay

Dr Andrew Barclay is a highly qualified General Surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care for both acute and chronic conditions. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical outcomes and reassuring support throughout the treatment journey. Dr Barclay specialises in a wide range of general surgical procedures, utilising both open and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques to ensure optimal recovery for his patients.

His clinical expertise spans several key areas of General Surgery, with a particular interest in colorectal surgery, gallbladder surgery, and hernia repairs. Dr Barclay is highly proficient in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopies, colonoscopies, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Additionally, he provides surgical management for skin malignancies and melanoma, as well as minor hand procedures such as carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgeries.

Dr Barclay graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Melbourne in 1998. He completed his primary surgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, subsequently obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Following his formal training, he completed a post-graduate surgical fellowship at a major regional health service, where he established his private practice to serve the community.
