Mr Justin James

Dr Justin James is a highly skilled general, breast and endocrine surgeon with expertise in managing benign and malignant breast diseases, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, and common general surgical conditions. He is known for his proficiency in oncoplastic breast surgery, where he employs plastic surgical principles and techniques to achieve better cosmetic outcomes and better patient satisfaction in the excision of breast cancers.

Dr James completed his medical education and general surgical training in India. Later, he pursued specialist general surgical training in Monash Health in Australia, where he obtained Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2014. He received his post-fellowship breast and endocrine surgery training in several prestigious hospitals in Australia, finishing in 2017. He obtained his Master of Surgery in Breast Surgery from Sydney University and Certificate in Clinician-Performed Ultrasound (CCPU) for breast and endocrine surgery practice in 2019.

Dr James is a consultant breast, endocrine, and general surgeon at Eastern Health in Melbourne and is a surgical member of Maroondah Breast Screen. He also provides acute general surgery at Box Hill Hospital. In addition, he is actively involved in clinical research and teaching, with several publications in international peer-reviewed journals and a current honorary appointment as a Senior Lecturer at Monash University.

Dr James is a member of Breast Surg ANZ and General Surgeons Australia, and he is committed to providing individualised care to his patients by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
