Dr Andrew Barbour

Professor Andrew Barbour is a general surgeon with expertise in upper gastrointestinal, pancreatic, melanoma and sarcoma surgery. They have a particular interest in oesophageal, gastric and pancreatic diseases, adrenal disease, melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma, weight loss and minimally invasive surgery, including robot-assisted surgery.

Professor Barbour is dedicated to advancing patient care through their involvement in clinical and laboratory research. Their research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with cancer, particularly in the areas of oesophageal and pancreatic cancer. They have been instrumental in conducting clinical trials and their work has been shared at international conferences.

Professor Barbour is also passionate about medical education. They are a Professor of Surgery at the University of Queensland and are actively involved in training the next generation of surgeons.
