Dr Aaron Lim

Dr Aaron Lim is a highly dedicated General Surgeon and Bariatric Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-centred surgical care. With a strong focus on collaboration, teamwork, and clear communication, he is committed to delivering safe and sustainable outcomes for his patients. Dr Lim specialises in minimally invasive laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques, ensuring that patients receive modern, evidence-based treatments tailored to their individual health goals.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of general surgical procedures as well as specialised weight loss interventions. Dr Lim has subspecialty interests in benign upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery, offering solutions such as gastric balloons, sleeve gastrectomies, and bypass procedures. Additionally, he provides expert care in general surgical conditions, including gallbladder disease, abdominal and groin hernias, reflux, and endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.

Dr Lim completed his foundational medical training in Queensland, first graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2008 before earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honours from the University of Queensland in 2013. He completed his specialist training in General Surgery in 2020 and went on to undertake further sub-specialist training in oesophagogastric and bariatric surgery in 2021. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Lim maintains active professional memberships with several prestigious organisations, including the Australia and New Zealand Gastric & Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA), the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS), General Surgeons Australia (GSA), the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
