Dr Zia Mazhar is a well experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist based in Essex. She sees patients at Basildon University Hospital and sees private patients at Spire Hartswood Hospital.
Dr Mazhar completed her medical degree at the University of Punjab, Pakistan in 1985 and completed her specialist gastroenterology training in the UK. She became an Accredited Colonoscopist recognised by the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in 2011, where she is also the Clinical Director. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2016.
In her current clinical practice, she specialises in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, upper and lower GI cancers, capsule endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, OGD, colonoscopy and gastroscopy (upper GI endoscopy).
