Mr Zahid Mahmood

Mr Zahid Mahmood is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery. His clinical practice includes complex procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve surgery, and combined cardiac operations. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques, applying these approaches where appropriate to support patient recovery and surgical outcomes.

Mr Mahmood graduated in medicine from the University of Punjab in 1995. He subsequently undertook specialist surgical training in the United Kingdom and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, followed by Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow with a focus in cardiothoracic surgery.

Appointed as a Consultant in the NHS in 2014, Mr Mahmood has since managed a broad and complex caseload, including high-risk patients requiring major valvular and coronary artery procedures.
