Dr Yee Cheng Lau

Dr Yee Cheng Lau is a Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Electrophysiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients with heart conditions, particularly heart rhythm disorders. With a focus on delivering clear, patient-centred care, Dr Lau evaluates and manages a wide spectrum of cardiovascular concerns. Dr Lau works closely with patients to create individualised treatment plans that address complex cardiac issues and promote long-term heart health.

Specialising in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing, Dr Lau has extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing atrial fibrillation, complex cardiac arrhythmias, and thromboembolic risk. Clinical interests include advanced catheter ablation techniques, such as cryoablation for atrial fibrillation, as well as the implantation and management of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. Through modern diagnostic tools and evidence-based interventional therapies, Dr Lau aims to improve quality of life and restore healthy heart function for every patient.

Dr Lau completed undergraduate medical education, graduating with the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), followed by achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK). Dr Lau subsequently earned a postgraduate research Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in cardiovascular medicine, focusing on atrial fibrillation and clot structure. Following higher specialist training in cardiology and advanced fellowship training in clinical electrophysiology, Dr Lau maintains active professional memberships with the European Society of Cardiology and the European Heart Rhythm Association.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr Lau is actively involved in cardiovascular research and clinical education, having published work on stroke prevention, oral anticoagulation, and cardiac arrhythmias.
