Dr William Jenkins

Dr William Jenkins is a Consultant Cardiologist who provides comprehensive clinical care across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease. He specialises in general cardiology, heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions, and multimodality cardiac imaging. Patient-centred and reassuring in his approach, Dr Jenkins works closely with individuals to investigate a wide array of cardiac symptoms, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and dizziness, delivering clear diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.

His clinical focus encompasses the evaluation and long-term management of heart failure, structural heart conditions, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular risk factors. Dr Jenkins utilises state-of-the-art non-invasive cardiac imaging to assess heart structure and function with high precision. His diagnostic capabilities include transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and cardiac computed tomography (CT), enabling highly accurate assessments for complex cardiac cases.

Dr Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences before graduating with his medical degree from the University of Glasgow in 2007. He subsequently undertook advanced postgraduate training, completing a PhD in Cardiovascular Imaging at the University of Edinburgh and a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr Jenkins holds national and European accreditations in heart failure, transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac MRI, alongside extensive training in cardiac CT.
