Dr. Benjamin Szwejkowski

Dr. Benjamin Szwejkowski is a Consultant Cardiologist based at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee, originally from Sheffield. He graduated with an MBChB in Medicine from the University of Dundee in 2004 and earned his MD in Cardiovascular Science between 2009 and 2011. In 2015, he was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in NHS Tayside.

Dr. Szwejkowski is fully trained and widely experienced in all aspects of general cardiology. He underwent extensive training in Edinburgh, Dundee, and Glasgow, culminating in a fellowship at the National Advanced Heart Failure Unit at Golden Jubilee National Hospital in 2014, where he specialised in advanced heart failure and complex cardiac devices. He is board certified in Cardiac Devices (CCDS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh.

Currently, he serves as the clinical lead for Cardiology at NHS Tayside and is actively involved in research, having recently acted as the Principal Investigator for the IRONMAN UK trial on intravenous iron in heart failure. Dr. Szwejkowski is also a dedicated educator at the University of Dundee, where he plays a key role as one of the Cardiovascular Block Convenors. His compassionate approach ensures that patients receive comprehensive care for conditions including heart failure, valve problems, chest pain, and arrhythmias.
