Mr William Britnell

Mr William Britnell is a Consultant Urologist with interests in general urology, urethral stricture disease and andrology. His clinical interests include erectile dysfunction, stone disease, endourology, haematuria, superficial bladder cancer, lower urinary tract symptoms, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract infections, and scrotal and penile problems.

Mr Britnell studied medicine at the University of Manchester, with placements in Stoke-on-Trent and Shrewsbury, and completed an elective placement in Long Island, New York. He subsequently completed core surgical training in Birmingham and Warwickshire before spending six years as a Urology Registrar in the Oxford Deanery. During his urology training, he also spent time in rural Uganda teaching local surgeons keyhole procedures for the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy.

His research and publications have included work on dermatoses of the foreskin and the management of rare bladder diseases. Mr Britnell is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
