Mr Vinod Shah

Mr Vinod Shah is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon working at East Lancashire Hospital and BMI The Beardwood Hospital, Blackburn.

Mr. Shah's specialist interest is surgery of the lower limb and he performs hip and knee joint replacement surgery. He also has a keen interest in sports injuries to the knee, performing arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery. He also performs minimally invasive hip and knee replacements and patellofemoral joint replacement.

Mr Shah graduated from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad-Gujarat, India in 1987. After completing a post graduate course in trauma and orthopaedics, he came to the UK to specialise in lower limb joint replacement surgery. He completed his specialist training in the south west and north west of England and became an Intercollegiate Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2000, where was awarded the certificate of completion of specialist training in trauma and orthopaedics.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Shah is a keen teacher and is actively involved in the training of junior surgeons within the NHS and was appointed at East Lancashire Hospital in March 2000.
