About Mr David Selvan
Mr Selvan graduated from University of Liverpool
with Honours.
He successfully completed his
specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Mersey rotation and
attained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Selvan then
completed his specialist knee fellowship in Manchester.
Mr Selvan currently works at Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics with a special interest in knee surgery and lower limb fractures and acute knee injuries including sports injuries.
He works at Renacres Hospital for his private practice specialising in knees problems including soft tissue knee injuries, sports knee injuries and arthritis of the knee.
Mr Selvan is very keen on patient outcomes following knee replacements and supports Enhanced Recovery forall his knee replacement patients.
He is currently the clinicaldirector for the department in his NHS practice.

Qualifications
Afer qualifying from Univeristy of Liverpool, I completed my basic surgical training in Surgery and completed my Higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics, all in Merseyside.
I then completed a knee fellowship with Prof Tuner and Johnson in Stockport hospital and have been practicing as a Consultant since 2015.
I have a very keen interest in teachign and training doctors and allied health professionals. I have been the Royal College Tutor for the NHS Trust I was working for for Trauma and Orthopaedics and I am a recognised GMC trainer.
I am also a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which is a recognition of outstanding trainer in surgery.
I also teach on the Advanced Trauma Life support Course as well as train the instructors nationally. I am a course director for one of the ATLS provider course.
