Dr Vinnie Nambisan is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at HCA Healthcare UK, providing holistic care to people with life-limiting illnesses and symptom control services to those receiving treatment for existing conditions. He received his primary medical qualification from Leeds University, where he also obtained a degree in Psychology in relation to Medicine. His passion for palliative medicine grew from observing the transformative impact of this type of care on the lives of those affected by life-limiting illnesses.

Dr Nambisan has extensive experience as a consultant in palliative medicine, having worked in the NHS, hospices and community healthcare facilities in London. Between 2014 and 2020, he was employed by The London Clinic to lead their in-house palliative care service, which was rated "outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2017. He joined HCA in 2020 and his services are available to patients at any of their facilities in London.

Alongside his consultant work, Dr Nambisan has held senior clinical governance roles and maintains a strong interest in medical ethics and law. He completed a Master's degree in medical ethics and law in 2006 and has lectured widely on palliative care, as well as medical ethics and law, to doctors, students and allied health professionals. Dr Nambisan is also employed as a specialist adviser in end-of-life care by the CQC and in the fitness to practise directorate of the General Medical Council (GMC).

In January 2024, Dr Nambisan was appointed as a Trustee of the charity Compassion in Dying, who support people to make choised and to achieve their wishes at the end of their lives.
