Mr Vijay Deore

Mr Vijay Deore is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust with specialist expertise in upper limb surgery. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of disorders affecting the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, with particular interests in hand and wrist conditions, including basal thumb arthritis and Dupuytren's contracture.

Mr Deore has an interest in contemporary upper limb surgical techniques and works as part of a multidisciplinary team promoting wide-awake upper limb surgery, enabling selected procedures to be performed using local anaesthetic without general anaesthesia.

After completing his primary medical qualification and a Master's degree in Orthopaedics in India, Mr Deore undertook higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics through the East Midlands South (Leicester) rotation. He subsequently completed several advanced upper limb fellowships, including the internationally recognised Upper Limb Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, the Leicester Shoulder Fellowship and the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA)-accredited Upper Limb Fellowship at University Hospital of North Tees.

Mr Deore remains actively involved in orthopaedic research at local, national and international levels. He has contributed to collaborative research projects and has published peer-reviewed articles in The Bone & Joint Journal, supporting the ongoing development of evidence-based orthopaedic practice.
