Mr Varun Dewan

Mr Varun Dewan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon, appointed in 2023, with a practice dedicated to the assessment and surgical management of knee conditions. His clinical work encompasses the full spectrum of knee surgery, including sports-related injuries, degenerative knee disease, and complex pathology involving the ligaments, cartilage, meniscus, and patellofemoral joint.

Mr Dewan has undertaken advanced subspecialist fellowship training in arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, sports knee surgery, and knee replacement surgery at recognised centres of excellence. This training supports his practice across both minimally invasive and reconstructive knee procedures, including the management of acute injuries and chronic conditions such as knee arthritis.

In addition to his surgical training, Mr Dewan holds a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. This provides a broad understanding of injury mechanisms, rehabilitation principles, and performance considerations, allowing him to manage patients with varying functional demands, from athletes to individuals seeking to improve mobility and daily activity.

His clinical practice is based on structured assessment, careful surgical planning, and clear communication throughout the treatment process. He provides care for patients at different stages of their condition, including initial diagnosis, non-operative management where appropriate, and surgical intervention when indicated.
