Dr Valentina Simioni

Dr Valentina Simioni is a dedicated Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology who specialises in the evaluation, assessment, and diagnosis of conditions affecting the peripheral nervous system, muscles, and neuromuscular junctions. She provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for patients presenting with complex neurological symptoms, delivering precise findings to guide ongoing treatment and multidisciplinary care. Her practice encompasses the detailed investigation of nerve and muscle function across the upper and lower limbs, as well as cranial nerve assessment.

In her daily practice, Dr Simioni conducts and interprets a broad array of neurophysiological tests, including nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG), single-fibre electromyography, and repetitive nerve stimulation. She routinely evaluates conditions such as peripheral neuropathies, entrapment neuropathies including carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve entrapment, facial neuropathies, radiculopathies, myopathies, motor neuron disorders, and neuromuscular junction dysfunctions. Her clinical expertise also extends to electroencephalography (EEG) across adult and paediatric patients, clinical electrophysiology of vision, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.

Dr Simioni completed her specialist medical training at the University of Ferrara in Italy, earning her qualification as a Specialist in Neurology, followed by a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the same institution. She holds a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in Clinical Neurophysiology. To further enhance her diagnostic scope, she completed advanced post-qualification training through the British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and specialised modules at University College London focusing on neuromuscular diseases, motor neurons, and genetic technologies. Dr Simioni is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology, the British Neurotoxin Network, the British Medical Association, and the Medical Defence Union.
