Dr Urpinder Grewal

Dr Urpinder Grewal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and management of hand, wrist, elbow, foot, and ankle conditions. With a broad foundation in general orthopaedics, Dr Grewal provides tailored surgical and non-surgical care for both adult and paediatric patients. She places patient-centred care at the core of her practice, ensuring patients have ample time to discuss all treatment options, benefits, and potential risks, empowering them to make collaborative and informed decisions regarding their health.

Dr Grewal earned her primary medical degree at the University of Delhi, qualifying in 1982. She subsequently completed her specialist orthopaedic training on the London rotational scheme, where she was the first female trainee. Following her specialty training, Dr Grewal completed advanced international fellowships in the United States, including a three-year research and clinical fellowship in upper limb surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and a clinical fellowship in hand and microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Her clinical interests cover a broad spectrum of upper limb and lower extremity disorders, including hand and wrist trauma, sports injuries, rheumatoid conditions, and nerve compression syndromes. Dr Grewal performs a wide range of procedures, including Dupuytren's fasciectomy, carpal tunnel decompression, tennis elbow release, ankle ligament repair, and arthroscopic interventions. She also offers surgical treatment for forefoot deformities, such as bunions and toe joint fusions, alongside conservative interventions including therapeutic joint injections and joint manipulation.
