Dr Tristan Barrett

Dr Tristan Barrett is an Associate Professor in Radiology and Honorary Consultant Radiologist with expertise in prostate cancer imaging and urogenital radiology. He is currently Imaging Lead for the East Anglia Cancer Alliance, playing a key role in advancing cancer diagnostics and imaging services across the region.

Dr Barrett graduated with an MB BS from the University of London in 2002 and has subsequently earned a PhD and Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists. His career has spanned leading institutions across the UK, United States, and Canada, providing him with extensive international experience in advanced medical imaging and cancer diagnostics.

He has completed prestigious fellowships in molecular imaging at the National Institutes of Health, abdominal imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and abdominal imaging at the University of Toronto, Canada. These experiences have helped establish him as a leading authority in prostate cancer imaging and MRI interpretation.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Barrett is a highly accomplished academic, having published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, authored three books, and contributed numerous book chapters. His current research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence to improve MRI quality assessment and enhance the detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer.
