Mr Thomas King

Mr. Thomas King is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in Birmingham, specializing in the treatment of bladder and lower urinary tract dysfunction in both men and women. He is part of a regional referral service that addresses complex issues such as male incontinence, often performing artificial urinary sphincter implantation. In addition to male incontinence, Mr. King provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for stress incontinence and lower urinary tract symptoms, including the use of sacral neuromodulation and botulinum toxin injections for bladder overactivity. His clinical practice also encompasses the diagnosis and management of benign prostatic enlargement, urinary tract infections, and penoscrotal conditions.

Mr. King qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2008, having also achieved a first-class honors BSc in Biochemistry. His early training took place in Nottingham and Birmingham, followed by specialist urology training in the West Midlands. He was awarded FRCS (Urol) in 2016 and then completed a fellowship in functional urology and incontinence in Sydney, Australia. Mr. King was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in 2019, where he continues to treat a wide range of urological conditions. He is also an active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the International Continence Society, regularly contributing to the field through presentations at national and international conferences.
