Dr Thomas Carroll

Dr Thomas Carroll is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon and Clinical Director who is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with complex neurological conditions. With a primary focus on cranial neurosurgery and skull base oncology, he brings a wealth of expertise to his clinical practice. Dr Carroll is widely recognised for his reassuring approach, ensuring that patients and their families feel fully supported throughout their treatment journeys.

His clinical practice is highly specialised, with a particular focus on skull base tumours, including acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, and pituitary adenomas. Dr Carroll is also an expert in managing Chiari malformations and performing craniocervical decompression surgery. In addition to his surgical work, he is actively involved in clinical research, contributing to advancements in the treatment of brain tumours and participating in multi-centre clinical trials to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Carroll obtained his primary medical qualifications, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of the Art of Obstetrics (MBBCh BAO) degrees, followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He completed his specialist training in neurosurgery and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Neurosurgery (FRCSI). Beyond his clinical duties, he is committed to advocacy and education, having served as a co-founder and chair of a national rare disease charity and contributing to the governance of special educational needs organisations.
