Dr. Stephen Miller

Dr Stephen Miller is an experienced General Practitioner with specialist expertise in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Sports and Exercise Medicine. He holds First Class Honours in Sports and Exercise Medicine (2004) and a degree in Medicine (2007), both from the University of Edinburgh. He completed his GP training in 2013 and has since gained postgraduate qualifications in child health, Sports and Exercise Medicine, and Musculoskeletal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Dr Miller works primarily within the NHS, running weekly Rheumatology Clinics at the Western General Hospital and Musculoskeletal Medicine Clinics at East Lothian Community Hospital. He is also involved in medical education, teaching GP trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Physiotherapists.

Alongside his clinical and academic roles, Dr Miller has significant experience in elite sport. He has been the club doctor for Hibernian FC for ten seasons and has supported athletes at major international competitions, including the World Athletics Championships, the Commonwealth Games, and the European Diving Championships.

Dr Miller has extensive experience managing a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal problems—from high-performance athletes to individuals seeking to improve everyday function. He is passionate about the role of exercise and non-surgical approaches in managing musculoskeletal conditions and is skilled in delivering targeted injection therapies for a wide range of joint, tendon and soft-tissue disorders.
