Dr Stephen Aldridge

Dr Stephen Aldridge is a highly regarded Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in orthopaedic trauma, upper limb trauma, and shoulder and elbow surgery. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing advanced, personalised care for individuals experiencing complex musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical practice focuses on delivering precise diagnoses and tailored treatment plans to guide patients from their initial consultation through to a full recovery.

His specialist clinical interests encompass a wide range of advanced surgical procedures. Dr Aldridge is particularly skilled in performing arthroscopic shoulder surgery to address instability and rotator cuff pathology, as well as complex open shoulder and elbow surgeries. Additionally, he treats upper limb fractures and non-union injuries using innovative surgical techniques. His expertise also extends to sports medicine, having previously served as a Team Doctor for British Gymnastics, which allows him to provide specialised care for active individuals and athletes seeking to return to their peak performance safely.

Dr Aldridge began his medical education at the University of Cambridge, where he completed his medical degree. He then undertook his specialist surgical training in Newcastle. To further refine his skills, he completed a prestigious upper limb fellowship in Sydney, followed by a trauma fellowship in Grenoble, where he gained extensive experience in high-energy fracture care. Dr Aldridge is an active AO Faculty Member and regularly teaches on upper limb surgery courses, sharing his expertise and advanced surgical techniques with fellow medical professionals.
