Mr Sing Yue Sim

Mr. Sing Yue Sim is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at City Dermatology Clinic and a locum medical retina and A&E consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He has been working at Moorfields Eye Hospital since 2017, taking on his current roles as a locum A&E ophthalmology consultant in April 2022 and a locum ophthalmology consultant specialising in medical retina in July 2024. His expertise includes medical retina, uveitis, and laser refractive surgery, with a strong focus on patient-centred care.

Before becoming a consultant, he spent five years as an ophthalmology specialist registrar at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in glaucoma, oculoplastics, accident and emergency ophthalmology, paediatrics, and vitreoretinal conditions. He also worked as an ophthalmology registrar at BMI Bishops Wood Hospital from 2020 to 2021 and an honorary ophthalmology specialist registrar at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust from 2019 to 2020. During this time, he specialised in accident and emergency ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology, medical retina, cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology.

Earlier in his career, he worked as an ophthalmology specialist registrar at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2019 to 2020, North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust from 2017 to 2018, and Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust from 2016 to 2017, with a focus on medical retina, glaucoma, and general ophthalmology.

Mr. Sing Yue Sim completed his medical degree at the University of Cambridge, earning a BA MB BChir in 2014, followed by a Master’s degree (MA) from the same institution. During his time at Cambridge, he was actively involved in the Cambridge Ophthalmology Society as an events coordinator from 2011 to 2013. He holds an FRCOphth from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a Certificate of Completion of Training (Ophthalmology) from the General Medical Council, and a Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery (CertLRS) from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
