Dr Simon Grumett

Dr Simon Grumett is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist who provides comprehensive and compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. With a firm commitment to delivering evidence-based medicine, Dr Grumett focuses on formulating individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient's diagnostic profile and personal circumstances. In his clinical practice, Dr Grumett specialises in systemic anti-cancer therapies, incorporating modern developments in chemotherapy, targeted agents, and immunotherapy. His sub-speciality interests encompass urological malignancies, particularly renal cell carcinoma and bladder cancer, alongside the management of cancer of unknown primary and acute oncological presentations. He works collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams to evaluate metastatic disease, refine therapeutic strategies, and optimise quality of life alongside treatment outcomes.

Dr Grumett completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics in 1990, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1995. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic research and scientific inquiry, he subsequently earned a PhD in Mathematical Modelling in Cancer from the University of Birmingham in 2006. In addition to his patient care responsibilities, Dr Grumett is actively involved in postgraduate medical education and specialty training, contributing to the development and mentorship of future Medical Oncologists.
