Dr Shane Patel is a principal dentist at Quality Dental. He offers general dentistry services and has a special interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry. He has a calm manner and is an advocate of minimally invasive dental procedures. His aim is to provide his patients with top-quality dental treatment to create beautiful smiles.
Dr Patel gained his initial BDS qualification from St. Bart's and the London School of medicine and dentistry before working in private practice in Australia. During this time, he was able to develop his cosmetic dentistry skills and developed a passion for implant dentistry. Upon his return to the UK, he undertook a post-graduate diploma in implant dentistry at the University of Bristol, broadening his skillset and professional portfolio. Since then, he has undertaken a number of postgraduate courses to further enhance his skills. He is an Invisalign provider and is able to treat patients with crooked teeth without the requirement for conventional braces.
In addition to his clinical work, he is a passionate educator and is also involved in the education of trainee dentists at the London Deanery.
Outside of the dental practice, his hobbies include cricket and football, as well as spending time with his friends and family.

I appreciated his advice and checkup, but a couple of things didn’t sit great with me: - he didn’t seem too concerned about the state of my gums which weren’t in great shape as the hygienist informed me. He knew I had a hygienist appointment and that this was her domain, so doubtless he was leaving it to her. But still, I want my dentist to pay attention to and care about my whole mouth and not just his part of it. - after an initial look in my mouth he told me he would take an X-ray. He didn’t tell me there would be an additional cost and didn’t give me a choice. Afterwards I found out they did cost extra and this left a sour taste in my mouth. He should have let me know there would be a charge and explained why he thought an X-ray was necessary. - he tried to upsell me on getting my bottom teeth straightened, most dentists do this so it’s not unusual, but I go to the dentist for medical work, not to be upsold
