Dr Ser Chua

Dr Ser Chua is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist who provides compassionate and evidence-based care for a wide array of skin conditions. She is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored treatment strategies. Her clinical approach emphasises clear communication, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Her primary clinical interests centre on complex medical dermatology, with particular expertise in severe cutaneous drug reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and drug reactions with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms. Dr Chua also possesses extensive experience in managing skin disorders associated with underlying systemic conditions, such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In addition, she frequently manages chronic inflammatory skin diseases, including atopic eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, and prurigo nodularis.

Dr Chua earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree before completing a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Nottingham, where her research examined cutaneous manifestations of HIV. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). Active in national and international clinical leadership, Dr Chua serves as the Chair of the Therapy & Guidelines Sub-Committee for the British Association of Dermatologists and contributes to the European Reference Network for Rare Skin Diseases. She is also engaged in clinical research and professional publishing, serving as a Deputy Editor for respected medical journals.
