About Mr Senthooran Raja
Mr Raja is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the management of hand, wrist, and forearm conditions. He earned his medical degree from Bart's & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his specialist training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery on the Royal London training programme. He gained experience in managing major trauma and delivering tertiary specialist care at leading NHS institutions such as the Royal London Hospital, University College London Hospitals, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Additionally, Mr Raja has a Master's degree in sports medicine, exercise, and health from University College London, which has given him a greater insight into treating and rehabilitating athletes and patients with greater demands on their manual dexterity. In 2019, he completed a highly sought-after Australian Orthopaedic Association-accredited fellowship at the Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb Research Institute.
In his NHS practice, Mr Raja provides acute and emergency care to adults and children while also managing chronic disorders of the hand, wrist, and forearm. He is a very passionate, caring and extremely experienced surgeon who gave me the reassurance required to make the right choice in terms of the surgery required given my mobility, active lifestyle and my future golfing aspirations. I have been seeing Mr Raja following a car accident where I broke my finger, knuckle and tore a ligament. I am so glad I found Mr Raja, as I was understandable shaken and worried about the injury. He always took the time to explain my diagnosis and the remedial actions clearly and in an empathetic way in which I understood. He extended the same patience to my family during my appointments and surgery. He is attentive, thorough, genuine and even took a collaborative approach with the physio teams to ensure joined up treatment. This level of care was transformative in my experience and have me the confidence of overcoming my injuries.
I had very good assessment and treatment done by Mr Raja for Ganglion cyst. He explained procedure of Surgery very well. After surgery care was taken well by him by booking Physio for me.
Dr Raja is great at translating complex medical jargon into simple words the patient can easily understand, clearly providing pros and cons of each treatment option. I did not feel rushed during the appointment and was able to ask all of my questions. The admin and paperwork is also efficient.
