Dr Sarah Downey

Dr Sarah Downey is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon specialising in oncoplastic breast surgery. Known for her compassionate and patient-centred approach, she provides comprehensive surgical care tailored to the individual needs of each patient. Dr Downey is committed to delivering high-quality clinical outcomes, combining meticulous technical skill with clear, reassuring communication to support patients throughout their surgical journey.

Dr Downey completed her primary medical degree, BM BS, at the University of Nottingham in 1989. She subsequently undertook postgraduate specialist training in Yorkshire, completing dedicated research in breast oncology in 1996. Dr Downey achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2000 and enhanced her advanced clinical skills through a specialist sabbatical fellowship in breast surgery. She maintains active professional engagement with leading surgical bodies, including serving as President of the Association of Breast Surgery and holding a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
