About Dr. Sam Smith
Dr. Samuel Smith is a UK-trained Consultant Gastroenterologist with full Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation in both upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and is an accreditated Bowel Cancer Screening endoscopist, thereby achieving high standards in endoscopy. Dr. Smith completed his medical training (MBChB) and earned a degree in psychological medicine (BMedSci (Hons)) at the University of Birmingham in 2009. He later completed his higher specialty training in Gastroenterology, resulting in his appointment as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 2022. During his training, he further developed his interest in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and endoscopy by completing a PhD entitled “Advanced Endoscopic Techniques in the Lower Gastrointestinal Tract” at the University of Birmingham. I felt genuinely comfortable and at ease during both the endoscopy and colonoscopy - so much so that I would now not worry at all if I ever needed to have either again. I would thoroughly recommend Dr Smith.
1st time meeting Mr Smith, I was a little bit nervous meeting a new consultant but I had no need to worry. I was seen within minutes of arriving. All staff very approachable and friendly.

Midland health very lovely, I feel appointment are too short, and wish it was longer, psychologically I feel I have quickly rush and say everything or I will run out of time, and it’s quite expensive sorry, for continue treatment and follow as your still trying to figure out your health issue, which is ongoing for me. But everyone nice.
