In 1996, Dr Sanyal qualified in Medicine from India. He worked and trained in dermatology before coming to the UK for further training. He completed his training in dermatology in the West Midlands deanery working across local hospitals in the region.
He is highly experienced having worked across hospitals in India, Nepal and UK since 1999. In the UK he has worked in units based in Milton Keynes, London, Liverpool, Dundee, Edinburgh, Warwick, Coventry and Birmingham.
He has a special interest in paediatric dermatology and psychological problems arising from skin disorders .
Dr Sanval currently works as a consultant dermatologist at the University hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire covering both the hospital of St Cross, Rugby and University hospital, Coventry.
He is actively involved in research and has been an investigator in various clinical trials in the UK as a member of the UK Dermatology clinical trials network.
Dr Sanval is also passionate about Medical Education and is a keen teacher to medical students, trainees and general practitioners.

· Medical Dermatology ( undiagnosed rashes, skin infections and infestations, acne and rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, lupus , blistering disorders)
· Paediatric Dermatology ( currently not consulting at BMI Meriden, Coventry )
· Cosmetic Dermatology ( scars, pigmentary disorders, acne and rosacea, thread veins etc )
· Psychodermatology ( anxiety secondary to skin issues )
· Skin Oncology ( skin cancers and their treatment - non surgical and surgical )

Patient care pathway
After an initial interest for a skin consult, the patients are initially triaged by a short synopsis of the problem and accompanying photographs to either a virtual clinic or a face to face clinic. After the consultation patients are usually given a possible diagnosis and a letter to drop into the local surgery specifying the diagnosis and suggested management.
A formal clinic letter to the patient and their general practitioner follows in due course.
