Dr Romaana Mir

Dr Romaana Mir is an accomplished Consultant Clinical Oncologist who provides patient-centred care for individuals diagnosed with various forms of cancer. Specialising in non-surgical cancer care, she delivers comprehensive clinical management with a focus on tailoring individual treatment plans to each patient's specific needs. Her clinical practice encompasses advanced therapeutic techniques aimed at achieving optimal outcomes while prioritising patient comfort, safety, and well-being.

Dr Mir possesses extensive expertise in the management of skin cancers, including melanoma, keratinocyte carcinoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma, alongside lung cancer. Her clinical interests span systemic anti-cancer therapies, including modern immunotherapy and targeted treatments, as well as highly precise radiotherapy. Beyond her direct clinical care, she actively participates in international multidisciplinary research teams, contributing to the development of global standards for radiotherapy quality assurance guidelines designed to enhance treatment precision and minimise side effects.

Dr Mir completed her undergraduate medical training, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB), before pursuing postgraduate studies that awarded her a Master of Science (MSc) and a Research Doctorate (MD(Res)). She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). Additionally, Dr Mir holds executive leadership roles in international professional associations, including serving as Secretary for the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) Skin and Soft Tissue Focus Group.
