Dr Roger Rear

Dr Roger Rear is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist and Consultant Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across the spectrum of cardiovascular medicine. In his role as a Clinical Lead for Heart Failure, he guides multidisciplinary care teams to deliver tailored diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with complex cardiac conditions. Known for his clear communication and reassuring manner, Dr Rear prioritises listening to patient concerns and ensuring that individuals feel thoroughly supported throughout their care.

His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis, management, and long-term care of heart failure and cardiomyopathy. Dr Rear also has substantial expertise in acute medicine and ambulatory care medicine, with a particular focus on arrhythmia management and acute atrial fibrillation. By implementing evidence-based protocols and individualised care plans, he works to reduce cardiovascular risk, alleviate symptoms, and improve quality of life for every patient under his care.

Dr Rear completed his undergraduate medical training, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc). He pursued postgraduate research, culminating in a Master of Medicine by Research (MD(res)). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), demonstrating his commitment to high clinical standards, continuous professional development, and quality improvement in cardiology and acute internal medicine.
