Dr Kanaganayagam is a consultant cardiologist who works at Imperial College NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust. He treats patients who have chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, and leg swelling. Dr Kanaganayagam is the head of cardiology imaging at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, and he is experienced in CT coronary angiography (with calcium score), stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac MRIs. He regularly performs cardiology imaging for his and other heart specialists' patients to help manage their conditions. He initiated a large Community Heart Failure service at Imperial and continues to care for patients with both reduced and preserved systolic function (HFPEF and HFREF), as well as other complex conditions. His passion for high quality care is reflected in his current role as the Director of Quality and Safety across Imperial for the Cancer, Surgery and Cardiovascular division.
Dr Kanaganayagam is involved in cardiovascular research, and he has written a number of review papers and delivered lectures on cardiac CT, echocardiography, and cardiac MRI both in the UK and abroad. He is also an honorary senior lecturer in cardiology at Imperial College.

Dr Kanaganayagam is a very professional doctor whose gentle and calm manner puts you immediately at ease. He genuinely listens, without rushing you, and when the results are known, explains these comprehensively for the layman. Everything runs well from start to finish - including his Admin team - from his Private PA Kiran to the lovely nurse Toby at the HCA clinic. I had read good reviews of Dr Kanaganayagam before booking a consultation and was certainly not disappointed
