Dr Robert Skelly is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Consultant Physician specialising in Endocrinology & Diabetes alongside General Internal Medicine. Dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, Dr Skelly works closely with individuals to evaluate, manage, and monitor a wide array of complex endocrine and metabolic conditions. His reassuring and thorough approach ensures that each patient receives an individualised management plan tailored to their specific healthcare needs.

His clinical practice covers the full spectrum of adult endocrinology and diabetes management. Dr Skelly has extensive expertise in managing type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with particular focus on preventing and managing complications such as diabetic neuropathy and diabetic nephropathy. His clinical interests encompass thyroid disease, thyroid eye disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, neuroendocrine tumours, hypertension, testosterone deficiency, and heart failure. Furthermore, he provides expert assessment for metabolic and hormone deficiencies associated with steroid abuse.

Dr Skelly completed advanced post-graduate medical training, including a specialist clinical fellowship in endocrinology and diabetes in the United States, as well as an academic research fellowship at a renowned international institution. He has also held appointments as a Clinical Lecturer in endocrinology and is accredited as an Educational and Clinical Supervisor. To maintain high standards of medical practice, Dr Skelly actively participates in continuing professional development and holds membership with the Medico-Legal Society.
