Dr Richard Davey

Dr Richard Davey is an established Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive care for individuals facing a wide variety of neurological conditions. As a specialist in General Neurology, he works to diagnose, manage, and support patients dealing with disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. His clinical practice focuses on delivering thorough diagnostic evaluations and personalised care plans tailored to meet each patient's individual health needs, helping them navigate complex health challenges with reassurance and clarity.

With primary clinical interests in cerebrovascular diseases and headache disorders, Dr Davey provides expert management for patients affected by stroke, transient ischaemic attacks, and complex headache conditions. His sub-speciality expertise extends to a range of long-term neurological conditions, including motor neurone disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, he possesses specialised experience in assessing and managing the neurological complications associated with systemic auto-immune disorders such as lupus.

Dr Davey completed his undergraduate medical education in Leeds, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours in 1993 and qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1996. He subsequently undertook specialist post-graduate training in neurology, during which he conducted dedicated clinical research into the neurological complications of lupus, leading to the award of his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2006. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999 and remains dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of evidence-based medical practice.
