However, he is also incredibly kind, compassionate and understanding. He takes the time to listen to your concerns, and explain everything he is doing. Professor Akolekar has had strategic oversight over our latest complex pregnancy; after supporting my wife and I during our two previous pregnancies (including one stillborn). Professor Akolekar has taken decisive actions; making prompt referrals and liaising with other stakeholders: health car professionals in order to support us as a family and more importantly to ensure the appropriate interventions were available when our son was born. Professor Akolekar has always made time to see us; answering numerous emails, returning telephone calls and answering questions in a face to face capacity.
