Dr Piers Patten

Dr Piers Patten is a UK-trained clinical haematologist. He provides clinical services for the King's Health Partners lymphoma service. He is particularly interested in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), a common lymphoma subtype. Dr Patten is very actively involved in clinical trials for CLL and other lymphomas including participation in the UK Blood Caner UK Research Network Portfolio and commercial studies.

He undertakes a laboratory and clinical research programme at King's College London investigating these lymphoid disorders, collaborating with national and international researchers. He is also fully trained in the assessment of patients for, and delivery of, CAR-T therapy, a highly specialised new therapy that has recently been licenced for certain patients with relapsed high grade B cell lymphomas and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
