Dr Pauline Leonard

Dr Pauline Leonard is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in the comprehensive management of complex solid malignancies. Serving as a Lead Cancer Clinician, Dr Leonard focuses primarily on gastrointestinal cancers and lung malignancies, while also overseeing acute oncology care for patients presenting with urgent complications or suspected diagnoses. She is deeply committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care that prioritises clear communication, rapid diagnostic pathways, and personalised care plans.

In her clinical practice, Dr Leonard works alongside multi-disciplinary specialist teams to ensure each patient receives holistic and coordinated care. Her clinical work encompasses the delivery of chemotherapy and targeted therapies, as well as managing cancers of unknown primary origin. Beyond direct patient care, Dr Leonard has a strong clinical interest in enhancing healthcare communication standards and developing streamlined diagnostic processes, ensuring that patients receive timely interventions and comprehensive support throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Leonard earned her primary medical degree from St George's Medical School in 1992. She achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1995 before completing specialist higher training as a Medical Oncologist in London, receiving her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2002. She was subsequently awarded a research Doctorate of Medicine from University College London for her work on gene expression profiling in osteosarcoma. Dr Leonard remains a member of the Royal College of Physicians.
