Dr Paul Cullis

Dr Paul Cullis is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care for infants, children, and young people. His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of general surgery of childhood, ranging from routine elective procedures to complex emergency conditions. Dr Cullis works closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver patient-focused, compassionate care, ensuring families receive clear guidance and reassurance from initial assessment through to recovery.

In his specialist practice, Dr Cullis maintains key clinical interests in neonatal surgery, upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery, thoracic surgery, and paediatric surgical oncology. He is highly proficient in advanced minimally invasive and keyhole techniques, which aim to reduce recovery times and post-operative discomfort for younger patients. His expertise includes managing complex congenital conditions such as oesophageal atresia, gut malrotation, and pyloric stenosis, as well as performing routine procedures including hernia repairs, orchidopexy, and tongue tie interventions. Dr Cullis also provides expert antenatal counselling for expectant parents when surgical anomalies are identified before birth.

Dr Cullis completed his medical degree at the University of Glasgow, graduating with Honours in his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB Hons) alongside an Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree. Following higher surgical training, he earned Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery (FRCS Paed.Surg). Dr Cullis actively participates in clinical research and surgical education, holding membership in professional surgical bodies and contributing regularly to peer-reviewed medical literature to support high standards of care in paediatric surgery.
