About Mrs Nuria Bara-Carril

Nuria is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience within the NHS and the independent sector. Nuria is currently devoted to offer an effective, flexible and personalised service within her busy independent practice.

Nuria works with adults with mild to severe psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression and OCD. She can also help with concerns around stress, relationships, challenging life events, loss, adjustment to illness, low self-esteem, and unresolved childhood issues. Since becoming a mother, Nuria has developed a specific interest in working with maternal mental health and wellbeing. She frequently supports parents as they navigate the new demands, change in role and stresses that come with pregnancy and parenthood.

Nuria has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and other approaches based on CBT, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy & Behavioural Family Therapy.

In addition to her clinical training, Nuria has completed an MSc in Health Psychology at City University and a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. She has a sound research background with published work in one of her areas of interest, Eating Disorders.

Nuria has worked in a range of clinical settings, including inpatient services, psychiatric rehabilitation, eating disorders and community mental health. As a senior clinician, she has held a number of leadership roles including two years as the Clinical Lead for Ealing Adult Mental Health Services. Nuria has extensive experience providing training and clinical supervision to psychologists and other mental health professionals. She is
currently a part-time Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at University College
London.
