Dr Ninian Lang

Dr Ninian Lang is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals with a wide spectrum of heart conditions. Specialising in general cardiology, advanced heart failure, and cardio-oncology, he is dedicated to supporting patients through complex cardiovascular challenges. Dr Lang focuses on delivering objective, evidence-based care tailored to each individual, helping patients navigate both routine cardiac management and complex specialised treatments with confidence and reassurance.

Dr Lang graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2001, having previously earned a first-class Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Neuroscience in 1998. He subsequently completed specialist clinical training in cardiology alongside a Cardiovascular Prize Fellowship, obtaining his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. His postgraduate training further includes an advanced fellowship in heart failure and cardiac devices. Dr Lang is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

In his clinical practice, Dr Lang focuses on cardio-oncology and heart failure management, with particular expertise in evaluating and treating the potential cardiac effects of anti-cancer treatments. His clinical interests include early cardiovascular risk prediction, blood pressure management, and advanced cardiac imaging, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to identify myocardial and vascular changes. Through early screening, close monitoring, and tailored therapeutic strategies, Dr Lang aims to safeguard heart health and minimise treatment-related cardiovascular risks.
