Mr Nicholas Hancock

Mr Nicholas Hancock qualified in medicine in 1998 and spent the early part of his career working in renowned major trauma centres at Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospitals in South Africa, where he gained extensive experience managing complex orthopaedic injuries. After returning to the UK, he further developed his specialist interest in orthopaedic surgery by training with leading international experts across the country.

He has been in continuous NHS employment since 2000 and completed his higher orthopaedic surgical training rotation in the South of England. In October 2010, Mr Hancock was appointed to a consultant post at Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust.

In the same year, he was awarded a prestigious one-year fellowship in Sydney, Australia, where he conducted research into bone graft substitutes and artificial ligaments with the University of New South Wales. During this fellowship, he also developed advanced expertise in modern hip and knee surgery techniques while working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, University of Sydney.
